Global Impact Through World Missions

This year, First Presbyterian Church is actively supporting 32 missionary units, 2 short-term missionaries, and 21 church planters and strategic projects in some of the world’s most influential cities.

And we’re not stopping there — our goal is to launch 10 more church planting efforts this year as we continue to expand the reach of the gospel across the globe.

  • Missionaries

This year, First Presbyterian Church is honored to support 32 missionary units and 2 short-term missionaries serving in some of the world’s most influential cities. We partner with missionaries serving around the world, bringing the Gospel to unreached people groups, supporting local churches, and meeting practical needs in their communities. These faithful servants often work in challenging environments, and we are honored to support them through prayer, encouragement, and resources.

  • Church Planters

We believe in the power of the local church to transform lives. That’s why we support church planters who are starting new congregations.

    Church planting efforts include:

    • Urban church plants in major cities
    • Training and equipping new leaders
  • Church planters for Native Americans

We are deeply committed to supporting Native American communities through culturally sensitive church planting and outreach projects. These efforts aim to honor heritage while sharing the hope of Christ.

    Our involvement includes:

    • Supporting Native American pastors and leaders
    • Partnering with ministries on reservations
  • Translation and Global Outreach

To reach every tribe and tongue, we support Bible translation efforts and digital evangelism tools that make the Gospel accessible in heart languages around the world.

    This includes:

    • Funding translation projects
    • Supporting audio and video Gospel tools
    • Partnering with global media ministries
  • World Relief and Development

1st Pres Becomes the 100th Church to Accept the MTW 1% Challenge

The Session formally approved First Presbyterian Church’s acceptance of Mission to the World’s challenge to pray and mobilize 1% of our members to serve overseas for 1 year or longer.  The PCA has a goal of sending out 1% of its adult membership—currently at about 280,000—to the foreign mission field over the next 10 years. Contact the World Missions staff if you would like to learn more about overseas service with MTW or any other mission organization.
